Our lovely friends over at Poo Promotions present THE CORROSIVE MACHINE E.P. LAUNCH, Mikey Hannon's hard rock/punk crossover beast play their first ever Sligo gig, all the way from Tullamore to rock you down into the ground with heavy heavy chugging riffs of metal and plenty of punky attitude and chanting, YO! YO! Travelling with the machine will be fellow Tullamore rock stalwarts SIDE FX, around for several years now playing many a gig across the land, perfecting their skills and honing their tunes into a formidable creature of rocktastic metal tiger proportions, hear the roar of classic rock metal played the best it can be!
Actively playing hardcore punk are THE JOBSEEKERS from Dublin, this young band have been doing the rounds over recent months, garnering plenty of interest and a loyal following of dedicated fans. Fast, aggressive, loud and angry makes for some great punk rock, but I don't think it will help with the job prospects much.
I did offer this gig to Easky electro pioneers COSMIC CRAYONS, but they couldn't do it, so you got them 'orrible herbert's EXCUSESagain, whinging an' spewing, gribbling an' grobbling, all over the bloody place. Who's gonna clear up the mess, that's what I want to know?
Usual malarkey - doors 9pm, first band 9.45pm, entry 6 euros, wot a bargin! Gig is on SATURDAY 5TH MAY, ADELAIDE BAR SLIGO.

POO PROMOTIONS Present THURS 19TH APRIL - The Adelaide Bar, Sligo. 2tone ska band from France - LES SKALOPES - top notch 2tone Ska just like it was done back in the 80's, it has even been remarked that "Les Skalopes are the French Selector". Great band that packed out the Leitrim Bar last time they were here a couple of years ago, played for ages to an enthusiastic crowd of skanking dancing gig goers, all hypered up on quality Ska tunes.
Regularly play to crowds of 100's back home in France, they are one of the country's top Ska bands, with several CD releases under their belt including 'Chasse a l'enfant' & a split with Stylnox. Get early so you don't miss this gig.
LOOPHOLE are a 3 piece guitar driven unit emerging from the Leitrim area to bring strange ragged songs that enchant and hypnotise, the sounds becoming colours in ears, smells sights before your eyes of lurid dreams never seen before creatures, a cat in your brain, all going round and round and round, LOOPHOLE.
Recently reformed Letterkenny rock revolutionaries
ZAFARANCHOS open the night ,tight, well crafted songs loud and full of tunes, melodies and rabid hook lines - good to have 'em back in action!Doors 9pm, first band 9.30pm, entry 10 Euros, over 18's only.

We are going to make Papel Picado decorations for the Mexican Day of The Dead Festival.

If you'd like to come along and have a go, bring some sharp scissors if you have them, we have plenty of newsprint paper to be cut. We will make decorations for the festival party and an altar honouring the dead with humour and reverence.

You could bring mementos, tokens, bread, rice, sweets, drink, candles, incense, flowers, messages. Whatever is appropriate to offer to honour the dead.

CHRIS LYNAM COMES TO SLIGO!!

It is a show that dreams are made of, a dream that shows are made of, a fight between the birds and bees to prove that man is not man at all, but a little part of a little,tiny,baby,baby................thing!

Chris Lynam is renowned for many things, but mainly for bringing his brand of crazed humour to bear on unsuspecting audiences. His comedy is both dangerous and exciting, stretching variety to its limits.

Any one show may include pyrotechnics, acrobatics, outlandish operatic and orchestral overtures, a sousaphone with a mind of it's own and anything else which may spring to Mr Lynam's unnecessarily large and vivid imagination.

What happens when you wake up and find that you will never wake up again, that everything you make up is down, and everything you make down is up?

That piece of toast you had for breakfast is really a piece of beach in the Caribbean, your wife is a fruitcake and your children are raspberries.

In amongst all this confusion it becomes apparent that something very important is missing from the backbone of man's existence...., and in order to restore world peace (of cake) Professor Shputdonk must find the missing........

"Chris Lynam is a brilliantly bizarre antidote to today's truculent society" New York Times.

"mahout of the bizarre buffoon extraordinaire to wit" The Times.

"Surreal unhinged quality which makes for comic greatness" The Guardian.
